Today we celebrate Female achievements throughout time and honor those currently serving our children within the district. Abington School District celebrated today with a Career Chatter panel event.
It’s #InternationalWomensDay, and Abington Senior High School marked the occasion by focusing on Women’s Empowerment for today’s “Career Chatter,” which is part of the Career Pathways Discussion Series. Thank you to all the inspiring women leaders who took time out of their busy workdays to talk with our students about finding your path in life. #CareerChatter2019Abington School District’sFacebook
And what a Panel it was! The panel included Engineers at Lockheed Martin, Surgical Nurses, Managers, and even a Judge. We are honored you took time out of your busy schedule to talk directly to our children.
You each inspire on your own; Together you inspire Women everywhere to achieve greatness. Thank you.
The ASHS Library hosted our first Career Chatter: Find YOUR Path Career Pathways panel discussion on March 8, 2019. In honor of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, we invited seven local professional women to address a group of 42 female students. Our panel featured Mary Beth Biddle and Karen O’Hara, engineers at Lockheed Martin, Petrina Shaw and Jennifer Kuhn, human resource specialists and managers at Comcast, Jennifer Grayson, a surgical nurse at Penn Medicine, Lauren Haley, a behavioral analyst with Brett DiNovi and Associates and Montgomery County Common Pleas Court Judge Gail Weilheimer. These passionate and successful women discussed their personal journeys from high school student to accomplished professional in their individual fields and shared their insights, knowledge and advice with the girls in attendance. The students had the opportunity to pose questions to the panel members and engage in discussion on career paths, life experiences and self advocacy. Special thanks to Ms. Davoli, Ms. Lindinger, Ms. Sack, Mr. Berrios, the library and custodial staff and our student library aides for for making this a successful networking event for our students.Abington Senior High School’s Facebook
